DUTIES

Provide quality control support to the project team and direct personnel to implement quality requirements and to accurately status the results. Perform construction on quality control inspection on and surveillance ac vi es in support of project and/or maintenance activities.

Safety is a primary responsibility in each job performed. Obtain safety training, obey safety rules. and make safety an integral part of each task. Take the necessary steps to stop work if continuing the job is unsafe or will create an unsafe condition.

Review design output documents in accordance with approved procedures in order to establish inspection on requirements in quality assurance procedures, construction on plans, and/or work packages. Coordinate with internal and external sources to resolve quality issues and provide status of the inspection/test activities for the work activities. Review technical criteria, personnel qualification and work sequence on work packages including the nota on of hold points prior to performance of inspection. Perform or direct the quality inspection on ac vi es of subordinate QC engineers and other inspection on personnel as assigned. Assist in resolution on of code, specification and drawing interpretation. Perform or supervise the performance of inspection on, witness, test, surveillance, and documents the results of the inspection activities. Assess the completeness of construction on activities and quality verification documenta on prior to preparation on of quality control releases for turnover. Review subcontractor's quality program for compliance to established procedures, a ends mobilization on meeting and monitors their activities for proper implementation on. Review suppliers and/or subcontractor's quality verification on documentation on for traceability and specification on compliance. Review, assess and status subcontractors' costs, manpower and materials. Approve subcontracts invoices and application for payment.


Additional Duties
 
  • Develop, revise, and perform peer reviews of Quality Control Inspection Plans related to electrical and I&C, in accordance with Design Output documents, Codes, and Standards.
  • Perform field related inspections in accordance with Quality Control Inspection Plans.
  • Document inspection results on applicable inspection records and issue Non-Conformance reports as required. 
  • Review product and process compliance with all specified drawings, specifications, and other requirements through inspection and/or review of supplied materials and equipment

Additional Experience Qualifications
 
  • Practical field experience in electrical and instrumentation and controls (I&C) quality control within the last 16 months. (Preferred)
  • Prior work experience working under an ASME NQA-1 quality program. (Required)
  • Prior DOE work experience. (Required)
  • Well-developed organizational skills with good communication skills. (Required)

teamwork, and customer satisfaction. (Required)

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Education: Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline and at least 5 - 7 years of practical experience in construction on inspection on or related areas. An Associate's degree and 7 - 9 years of practical experience would be considered equivalent. A high school diploma and 10 - 14 years of practical experience would also be considered equivalent. Certification with continuing technical training is required for performance of inspection and surveillance ac vi es. Specialized training may also be required to support certain technical areas.

OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Area Security Access: Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE “Q” security clearance. An active DOE clearance is not initially required to perform assigned duties. After award, the selected candidate will be notified when to apply for a clearance based on specific work assignments.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates who have possessed an active DOE clearance (L or Q) within the past two (2) years are preferred.
